While for much of your days you will be amidst the fields, natural trails and river gorges, you may find yourself with time to spare.  Throughout Elora and Fergus you can discover beautiful shops filled with fine Canadian craft, fashion and decor,  great restaurants and artisanal foods. Thursday, May 16th 5:30pm to 9pm: Join us for Film on a Plate - a food and film events sponsored by Sensational Elora and held at the charming Elora Gorge Cinema.



Thursday, May 16th and Friday, May 17th, registered artists can sign up for Night Painting en Plein Air. Best of Nocturnes will have a separate prize.


Saturday, May 18th 10:00am - 11:00AM:  Templin Gardens Quick Paint - check out the artist in a fast and fun paint out competition. Show and Sale follow right in the park from 11:45-1 pm,  behind the Grand Theatre, Fergus.


Walking Tour of Elora:  Saturday, May 18th at 2:30

‘In steps of A.J. Casson’, Group of Seven Artist


This will be an art focused walking tour of historic Elora led by Older Voices (Al Koop and Gary Bryant)  You will be visiting some of the sites where Casson painted in downtown Elora.  (Casson’s watercolours of Elora/Salem 1929-31) The tour is approximately one hour. Tour starts at the Elora Fergus Tourism Office, 10 East Mill Street


Sunday, May 19th  9:00am to noon:  Artists' Breakfast  Join us for a leisurely breakfast or coffee and socialize at the Red Door Café, 212 St. Andrew St. W.


Sunday, May 19th  1:00pm to 5:00pm:  Show and Sale with judges comments. All welcome 75 Melville Street, Elora.

Kids Plein Air!  Colaboration with local schools

Saturday May 18, 2019 from 1:00-4:00pm


This year the Elora Plein Air Festival is partnering with local elementary school classes to involve students in  the festival. Kindergarten, third and eighth grade students will be learning about outdoor painting and the plein air tradition. Judy Anderson, artist and Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) art educator, will be the student workshop instructor.

Arthur – Grade3 May 1

Fergus – Grade 8 May 6

Elora – Kindergarten May 7


Student art from the outdoor workshops will be featured in a student exhibition at the Elora Centre for the Arts during the festival on Saturday May 18th from 1:00 - 4:00pm


Supportive Arts for Adults 18+!


The Elora Centre for the Arts celebrates plein air painting with the Supportive Art for Adults group.  Again Led by Judy Anderson they will have a paint-out in Bissell Park.  Their exhibit will on the wall in the main lobby at ECftA

Judy Anderson will be facilitating a plein air painting class for the group of supportive adults at Bissell Park in May.


The supportive adults class works will be exhibited at the Elora Centre for the Arts during the Plein Air Festival.






*Wyndham Art Supplies will be in-house at the ECFTA on Thursday and Friday from 8:30AM – 3PM to supply all your painting needs as part of the Elora Arts Council Plein Air Grand River Painting Festival.
